Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 27, 2026
Ubique IoT, LLC ("we," "us," or "our") makes Dropwell, a smart eye drop reminder device, along with the Dropwell companion mobile app, and operates this marketing website. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Summary
- Dropwell device: Designed to work without a cloud account by default. Reminder schedules and dose logs stay on your phone (paired via the companion mobile app) unless you choose to export or back them up yourself.
- Dropwell mobile app: Stores your reminder schedule and dose history locally on your phone, sends you reminder notifications, and communicates with the Dropwell device over Bluetooth. No account is required.
- Optional cloud features (future): We may offer an opt-in premium account in the future that enables cloud backup, multi-device sync, or caregiver sharing. These features will always be optional, off by default, and described in an updated policy before they apply to you.
- This website: We may collect information you submit (for example, a waitlist or newsletter email) and basic technical data needed to run the site securely.
Information we collect
Information you provide
When you use forms on this website (such as joining a waitlist or signing up for product updates), we collect the information you submit, typically your email address and any optional fields you choose to fill in.
When you use the Dropwell app, you may enter information such as the name of your medication, your reminder schedule, and notes about your doses. This information is stored on your phone.
Dropwell device and mobile app data
Dropwell is built for routines, not accounts. The device and app store reminder settings and dose history locally on your phone. We do not require you to create an account or sign in to use core Dropwell features.
The Dropwell app may request the following permissions on your phone, depending on the platform:
- Notifications: To deliver reminder alerts at your scheduled times.
- Bluetooth: To pair and communicate with your Dropwell device.
- Local storage: To save your schedule and dose history on the phone.
You can revoke any of these permissions through your phone's system settings. Revoking Bluetooth or notifications will disable the corresponding features.
The Dropwell app does not access your contacts, photos, location, or microphone, and does not transmit your reminder or dose data to the cloud unless you explicitly choose to (for example, by exporting a file or, opting into a cloud account).
Diagnostics and crash reports
The Dropwell app may collect limited diagnostic information — such as crash logs and basic app performance metrics — to help us identify and fix bugs. Where required, we will ask for your consent before collecting this data, and you will be able to disable it in the app's settings. This data does not include your reminder schedule, dose history, or any health-related content you enter.
Optional cloud account (if and when offered)
We may, in the future, offer an optional premium account that enables cloud-based features such as backup, sync across devices, or sharing your schedule with a caregiver. If we offer such an account:
- It will be opt-in — you choose to create it; it will not be required to use Dropwell.
- We will describe what data is collected, how it is used, and how long it is retained in an updated version of this policy before the feature applies to you.
- You will be able to use Dropwell's core reminder features without it.
- If you sign up and later change your mind, you will be able to delete your account and associated cloud data.
Automatically collected information (website)
Like most websites, our hosting and infrastructure may process standard technical information when you visit this site, such as:
- IP address and approximate region (derived from IP)
- Browser type, device type, and operating system
- Pages viewed, referring URL, and timestamps
- Cookies or similar technologies used for essential site operation, security, or analytics (if enabled)
We use this information to operate, secure, and improve the website, not to sell your personal information.
How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- Respond to your requests and send updates you signed up for
- Operate, maintain, and protect the Dropwell app and this website
- Diagnose and fix bugs in the Dropwell app (where you have not opted out)
- Understand aggregate usage and improve Dropwell and the site
- Comply with law and enforce our terms
We do not use your information for unrelated automated decision-making or profiling.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information with service providers who help us run the Dropwell app or website (for example, email delivery, hosting, or crash reporting), subject to confidentiality obligations. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger or acquisition (with notice where required by law).
Data retention
- Website submissions: We keep waitlist and newsletter emails until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, or as long as needed for the purpose you provided them.
- Device and app data: Remains on your phone and device under your control. Uninstalling the Dropwell app, resetting your phone, or replacing your Dropwell device may erase local history unless you have backed it up.
- Diagnostic data: Retained only as long as needed to diagnose and fix issues, then deleted or anonymized.
- Cloud account data (if applicable): Retention rules for any optional premium account will be described in the updated policy that accompanies the launch of that feature.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information we handle online and within the Dropwell app. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of your personal information, or to object to marketing.
For data stored locally on your phone or device, you can review, edit, or delete it directly within the Dropwell app or by uninstalling it.
To exercise these rights or ask questions about this policy, contact us at ubiqueiot@gmail.com.
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any message we send.
Children
Dropwell — including the device, app, and website — is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
International visitors
If you access this site or use the Dropwell app from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the U.S. or other locations where our providers operate, under protections described in this policy.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes — including the launch of any optional cloud account features — may be communicated by email, through the Dropwell app, or via a notice on the site where appropriate.
